Fire in Dubai's Al Quoz area

A fire broke out in a warehouse in Al Quoz at around 1pm on Sunday afternoon, the Dubai Department of Civil Defence has confirmed.

Abu Nasier, Head of the Civil Defence's Media Relations Department, said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined but local firefighters managed to put out the blaze quickly.

"The fire lasted for about 20 minutes and everything [is] under control," Nasier said.

Initial reports given to the Department of Civil Defence suggested that the warehouse had been used to store some petrol products but Nasier refused to give further details pending an investigation by Dubai Police.
