Former Deyaar executive gets three years in jail

Dubai Criminal Court yesterday sentenced the first defendant in the Deyaar 2 case, former board member SA, to three years in jail.

He was also fined Dh115.8 million and ordered to pay Dh101,000 to the company as well as Dh500 as legal expenses.

Meanwhile, the second defendant, AJ, an Emirati businessman who is at large, was acquitted. The session was presided over by Judge Al Saeed Bargouth. The report of the Financial Audit Department, compiled by expert Mohammed Mustafa Hussein, had shown several financial violations in Deyaar.
