Scores of officials and experts from the UAE and other countries will gather in Abu Dhabi next week for a conference, which will focus on economic challenges and domestic investment opportunities, officials said yesterday.
The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DED) will sponsor the second annual Global Investment Forum (GIF) during April 28-29.
"The forum will bring to light the challenges and opportunities facing the UAE economy in the year ahead. Oil earnings and sustained diversification in non-oil sectors have made the Emirates one of the world's most dynamic economies," DED Chairman Nasser Al Sowaidi said. "The second Global Investment Forum comes at a crucial moment for the UAE and the region. The current situation brings challenges for all the world economies, but also offers opportunities for discerning investors. "
Key decision makers from leading UAE firms will attend the forum.
