Dubai Police helicopters were seen circling the tower.

 

Smoke could be seen billowing from the Al Salam tower from Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City and neighbouring areas.

 

A close-up of the tower shows that soot and smoke have blackened glass panels down the front of the building.
