Lubna opens business forum

The UAE-Azeri Business Forum was inaugurated yesterday by Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, and her Azeri counterpart Heydar Babayev.

Attended by hundreds of businessmen, the forum is being held on the sidelines of the first UAE-Azeri joint ministerial meeting that convened here on Monday.

The UAE delegation was headed by Sheikha Lubna, while the Azeri side was chaired by Heydar Babayev.

Addressing the forum, the UAE minister underlined the keenness of the UAE to bolster economic and trade relations with Azerbaijan. She told the meeting both countries shared a lot in common in terms of investment opportunities, business climates and free market economy.

On Monday, Azerbaijan President Ilham Heydar Aliyev received Sheikha Lubna. She conveyed the greetings of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of

UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and discussed relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan, especially in the economic sector.
