His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday inaugurated the water taxi station at Festival City on Dubai Creek as a tourist project and a transport mode added by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The project, part of the RTA's land and sea transport strategy, aims at delivering transport services that allow commuters to move around the city in a short span of time and as quickly as possible. Sheikh Mohammed, who was accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates group; and Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman and Executive Director of the RTA, also took a ride on board the water taxi.
