His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed yesterday any effort to open up new channels of communications between the UAE and the Chinese banking sector.
Sheikh Mohammed said such contacts would enable the two sides to build joint foundation for co-operation and investment. Sheikh Mohammed made his remarks at a meeting with a delegation representing major banks in China.
The meeting reviewed ways of enhancing the role Chinese banks could play in the UAE markets through the Dubai International Financial Centre and co-operation with other UAE financial and banking institutions.
A number of Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials attended the meeting.
