Mohammed receives Intel president

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received President and Chief Executive Officer of Intel Corporation Paul Otellini at Al Marmoun yesterday.

Otellini expressed confidence in Dubai's status as a regional technological and economic hub and praised the logistical facilities provided by UAE and Dubai to global corporations.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi and a number of senior officials.

Intel Capital yesterday announced an investment in three UAE-based technology companies – Conservus International, Pulse Technologies, and Vertex Animation Studio. The funding will come from the $50 million (Dh183.5m) Intel Capital Middle East and Turkey Fund.
