Postal bodies to up co-operation

Emirates Post and India Post have agreed to expand co-operation in the postal fields, express mail, remittances and philately.

A delegation of India Post recently visited Dubai and held talks with top officials of Emirates Post Group to identify areas of bilateral co-operation. The India Post delegation included Samant Shukadev, member (development), Postal Services Board, Department of Posts, and PN Ranjeet Kumar, Director (global business), Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India.

Abdullah Al Daboos, President of Emirates Post Group, underlined the need for consolidation of ties between Emirates Post and India Post. He briefed the officials on the long-term strategies of Emirates Post Holding Group and invited India Post to be part of the diversification plans.

The two sides discussed ways of enhancing the express mail service (Mumtaz), remittances through IFS (International Financial System) and Wall Street Exchange and parcel service. Both sides agreed to enhance relations in philately, and agreed to host a joint stamp exhibition in 2010.
