There should serious and clear steps for integration between regional tourism plans and programmes to ensure harmony between strategies and products offered to tourists in the countries of the region, according to Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and President of Emirates Group.

Speaking at the opening of the 15th Arabian Travel Market in Dubai yesterday, Sheikh Ahmed said the tourism sector is flourishing not only in the UAE but also across the Middle East.

He called for wider co-ordination between tourism products and services in the region, highlighting the importance of maintaining constant growth levels.

Sheikh Ahmed said he was happy for the success of the Arabian Travel Market over the past 15 years, adding the market scored an exceptionally quick growth over the last decade as some 2,000 from across the world have taken part. Exhibitors from 70 countries are attending the event.
