SCC turns down draft of SCA law

The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) rejected a draft law referred by it's Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee on the organisation of work of Sharjah Control Department of Administration (SCA).

Instead, the council decided to set up a legal committee comprising constitutional and administrative experts, a specialist in administrative control affairs and an expert in law to draw up a comprehensive draft law that would meet the requirements of current and future phases of administrative control.

It's rejection of the earlier draft was on the grounds that most of its articles violated constitutional provisions and regulations and its failure to explain the role and powers of Sharjah's SCA. The rejection followed a discussion in the presence of Tariq Sultan bin Khadim, SCA's Director General.
