Jumeirah Group is considering opening vocational schools in Jordan and the Philippines.

Chief Executive Officer Guy Crawford said the firm was carrying out a feasibility study into plans to establish schools offering three to six-month hospitality courses.

Crawford said new recruits from the schools would help the company to meet its growing need for staff. Jumeirah, home to more than 100 nationalities, is set to quadruple its workforce from today's 11,000 to 40,000 in the next four years.

He said it will roll out 40 hotels by the end of the decade and aims to further increase its portfolio to 60 by 2012.

"If everything works then we would like to be operating these schools by September next year," said Crawford.
