The UAE search and rescue team members, who left for Morocco on Friday, are continuing their search for Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (Adia), who is still missing following a glider accident on Friday.
The glider crashed into a lake near the Sidi Mohammed bin Abdullah Dam near Rabat.
The search team said the nature of the terrain in the crash area is making the tracking effort challenging.
The pilot of the glider who was rescued after the crash is now in a stable condition.
"The search is still going on, that is all that I can tell you," said Moroccan Communications Minister Khalid Naciri.
Few details have emerged about the accident except that the pilot of the craft was rescued after the crash.
Dozens of police yesterday blocked roads leading to the lake, which is set in green, rolling hills.
Several vehicles with diplomatic licence plates swept through a police blockade down the road.
Sheikh Ahmed is in his early 40s and was ranked No27 on Forbes list of the world's most powerful people last year.
Sheikh Ahmed's sovereign wealth fund, Adia, is believed to have assets of about $500 billion (Dh1.8 trillion) to $700bn, ranging from Citigroup bonds to a stake in United Kindom's Gatwick airport to residential property in major cosmopolitan cities of the world.
