Trade high on the agenda

Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri will lead the UAE delegation to the seventh joint meeting of the UAE-Germany economic, trade and technical co-operation committee.

The two-day meeting opens tomorrow in Berlin.

According to the ministry's undersecretary Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shihhi, who is also a member of the delegation, the meeting will discuss issues of mutual interest including investment, economic co-operation, energy, renewable energy, and technical co-operation, in addition to co-operation in health, water, environment and agriculture.

The joint committee, in its last meeting in Abu Dhabi, reiterated the need to expedite the signing of a free trade agreement between the GCC and the European Union.
