UAE and Libya to boost co-operation

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has received a high-ranking Libyan delegation led by Minister of Planning Dr Abdul Hafeez Zlitni.

Welcoming the Libyan delegation, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the strong brotherly bilateral ties, saying they "are progressing steadily towards boosting joint co-operation in all domains".

He said exchange of visits between top officials of the two countries underlines the growth of their bonds at present and epitomises, on the other hand, efforts being made by Abu Dhabi and Tripoli at the highest levels to strengthen these links and broaden scopes of joint co-operation in a way that serves mutual interests of the brotherly countries.

The meeting reviewed prospects of co-operation and co-ordination in sectors such as energy and tourism.

The visiting Libyan delegation included Omran Abkraa, Minister of Electricity, Water and Gas, Hamid Al Hudairi, Secretary-General of the Libyan Social and Economic Development Fund (SEDF), Amar Al Tayef, Minister of Tourism, and Abdul Rahman Qamoodi, Chairman of the Libyan Investment Fund.
