Worker charged with stealing taps

Dubai Criminal Court is trying a farm labourer for stealing nine old taps from a farm belonging to Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Three other defendants are also standing trial for the acquisition of the stolen property.

In yesterday's session, the four defendants denied the charges and the court postponed the case until November 8.

Dubai Public Prosecution had accused the first defendant, AQ, 30, an Iranian, of stealing movables from a farm belonging to Sheikh Ahmed. MY, 45, RA, 40, and SH, 20, – all Pakistani workers – were charged with the acquisition of the stolen taps.

Farm doctor Lutfi Al Sayed Al Sheikh testified that the taps found with the defendants belonged to the farm and nobody is allowed to take any of the items without permission.
