FNC delegation to attend Oman conference

The Federal National Council (FNC) will participate in the 15th conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (Aipu) which opens in Muscat today.

Speaker Abdul-Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair will head the FNC delegation.

The conference will discuss, among other issues on agenda, the issue of human development in the member countries and the effects of the global financial crisis on their economies.

The conference will also review the duties of the Aipu in the light of the resolution adopted at the group's 14th extraordinary meeting held in Lebanon in the wake of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the executive committee of Aipu began yesterday in Muscat.
