A cheque for Dh65,255 raised by the first Terry Fox Run to be held in Ras Al Khaimah has been handed over to the UAE University in Al Ain by Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the emirate's Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler. The cash will help to fund cancer research projects currently underway at the university. "It is only through research that we will be able to conquer the disease," said Sheikh Saud.

Terry Fox Runs are held all over the world to raise money for cancer research in memory of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox.
