Suspected pipebombs found in New Zealand

A part of the New Zealand city of Hastings was cordoned off on Tuesday after six suspected pipe bombs were found, the New Zealand Press Association has reported.

Local police are awaiting army bomb disposal units, and have evacuated nearby businesses in the industrial area of Hastings, on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island, said NZPA. Police could not be immediately contacted

About 11.30am local time a business owner found six brass pipes, each about 30 centimetres long and containing what appeared to be explosives, NZPA said.
