UAE-Qatar investment fund established

The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, returned home from Qatar after a short visit, during which he held talks with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.


On arrival in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa was received by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and senior officials.

In Doha, Sheikh Khalifa was seen off by Sheikh Hamad, Crown Prince Sheikh Tameem bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir Al Thani, other sheikhs and senior officials, Qatari Ambassador to UAE Abdullah Mohammed Al Othman and the UAE Ambassador to Qatar Abdul Ridha Abdullah Khoori.

During the talks, they reviewed the relations between the UAE and Qatar, and discussed regional and international issues of common interest.

After the discussions, the two leaders witnessed the signing of an agreement to set up a UAE-Qatari joint investment fund.

The agreement was signed between Managing Director of International Petroleum Investment Company (Ipic) Khadem Abdullah Al Qubaisi, who represented the UAE side, and Director of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) Dr Hussein Ali Al Abdullah, representing Qatar.

The President and the accompanying delegation later attended a lunch banquet held in honour of them by the Emir of Qatar. (Wam)
