US sugar refinery blast claims tenth victim

Another person severely injured in a Georgia sugar refinery explosion has died on Friday.
The death at Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital brings the toll from the February 7 explosion to 10. Hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits says 13 injured victims remain in critical condition and two others in serious condition.

The explosion at Imperial Sugar destroyed the packaging area where workers poured sugar into bags sold under the Dixie Crystals brand.

The Port Wentworth refinery itself in Georgia sustained less damage but remains shut down. (AP)
