Christian Benteke is another of Belgium’s new bunch of dream team players that has more than impressed in the Premier League.

From Eden Hazard to Marouanne Fellaini, the Belgium presence in the Premier League has been of growing import.

None more than Benteke who showed exactly what he could do against the might of Manchester United.

Though Aston Villa eventually, and inevitably, lost, Benteke came out of that game impressing everyone with his power and touch.

The striker, 21, joined Villa for £7million from Genk and has now thrown open the door for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

He was quoted by The Sun as saying, “Arsenal are the club I love. I like their philosophy of selecting young players and, besides, they had Thierry Henry.

“For me he is the best player in the world and was my boyhood idol.

“I’m not afraid of making enemies at Villa by saying I love Arsenal.”

Wenger’s Gunners face a crunch clash with derby rivals Tottenham Hostpur that could define their already-difficult season.

Wenger seems poised to move for a striker, or attacking midfielder in January to beef up his team.

With Theo Walcott set to leave, Benteke might prove to be the man that gives Arsenal an attacking intent upfront different from the likes of Gervinho and Walcott.

Is it time for Wenger to make a move for Benteke?
