Stoner hoping to 'trick his rivals

Casey Stoner is looking to today's German Grand Prix to record a hat-trick of MotoGP wins and put his world championship title defence firmly back on track.

The Australian is the in-form rider after back-to-back victories in Britain and in Holland, where he finished an impressive 11 seconds ahead of a field led by Spaniard Dani Pedrosa.

Those two wins put the 22-year-old Ducati rider back in the championship frame – after going six races without a win – and Stoner is looking to clawing back yet more points on leader Pedrosa.

"It will be good if we can keep up these sort of results, but it is going to be very hard," said Stoner.

"We have had a couple of good weekends so we have got to keep working harder than anybody else to make sure we maintain this form."

It's a remarkable comeback for the Aussie flyer, who for most of the season has been chasing the heels of Valentino Rossi.

But Rossi suffered a nightmare at the Dutch GP, crashing out on the first lap to allow Pedrosa to leap-frog him at the standings summit.

Rossi will be hoping history doesn't repeat itself in Sunday's race, as the Italian suffered a bad crash in last year's Sachsenring showdown.

"Last year, I made a mistake and crashed, and at the last race, I also made a mistake, so I hope that I've now had my bad moment for this year," said the five-time MotoGP champion.

SINGAPORE COMPLETES PIT BUILDING

Singapore marked completion of the pit building "nerve centre" for the world's first Formula One Grand Prix night race, officials said.

Built in about 10 months on Singapore's waterfront, the three-storey pit building will hold 36 garages for the race teams, race control facilities, a media centre, winners' podium and club for about 4,000 people, the Singapore Tourism Board said in a joint statement with race promoters.
