Etihad Airways' invited guests, Andrew Slate and Paul Greenwood, won the inaugural Doha Masters at Doha Golf Club.

More than 70 leading Qatar business executives teed off in the tournament despite high winds and a full-blown sand storm.

Organised by Al Khaliji, the new Qatari bank, this was the first Leisurecorp Middle East Corporate Masters series event to be held outside the UAE.

Slate and Greenwood scored an impressive 35 points to finish one point ahead of runners-up Karl Bishop and Hiroshi Takeda on 34. Both teams qualified to play in The Leisurecorp Middle East Corporate Masters Grand Final on June 5 at The Els Club, Dubai.

Next tournament of the series, co-sponsored by Emirates Business, is The Middle East CEO/Entrepreneur Cup presented by First Wealth on May 28 at The Els Club.

The overall winners will represent the Middle East in the World Final held at the Monte Rei course on November 3 and November 4.
