A cook paid a woman Dh200 to have sex with him twice – but then killed her when she said she was too tired for a second session and refused to return Dh100, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
Indian AG, 30, choked the Azeri woman to death and stole her mobile phone, a gold chain and Dh310, it was alleged.
The mobile phone helped the police to track down and arrest the suspect. Dubai Police Lieutenant Hassan Sultan testified that he had received a report that a woman had been found dead at her flat in Bur Dubai.
He went to the scene and found a woman in her forties lying on her bed with a pillow on her face.
Police searched the cook's residence and found the mobile phone, the chain and remittance forms.
The defendant said he had wanted to take the Dh100 by force and the woman started to scream, so he pushed the pillow over her face until she stopped breathing. Forensic doctor Fawzi bin Omran said the woman died because of pressure applied to the face and neck.
The case was adjourned until April 25 because the defendant did not have a lawyer. The court asked the public prosecution to appoint a lawyer on his behalf.
In another case, the court was told that four Bangladeshis charged with human trafficking and running a brothel, had forced two maids to work as prostitutes. One of the alleged victims said that a maid told her a woman would give them jobs in a restaurant for a higher salary. After two weeks they were asked to work as prostitutes.
The defendants have denied the charges.
