A German woman, fearful that a burglar was trying to break into her second storey apartment, called police after she heard someone climbing up to her balcony shortly after midnight, police said on Thursday.
But when officers reached the property, they were not met with the kind of intruder they thought was attempting to break in. Instead, they discovered the "burglar" was a man carrying flowers and a bottle of wine. He turned out to be the woman's boyfriend, who was simply trying to be romantic.
The man was forced to visit the station, however, after being arrested on an outstanding warrant.
