Make your own… Easter bunny

As Easter weekend begins today, it is time to celebrate and what better way than by creating your own chocolate gift.

The Harbour Hotel in Dubai Marina has sessions where families or friends can make an Easter bunny complete with a unique gift inside. Unable to resist the sweet treat, Emirates Business rolled our sleeves up and got involved.

Chocolate heaven

Chocolate Easter eggs are 10-a-penny in supermarkets the world over and it is not unusual for people to end up with more than one of the same but I doubt people will get more than one of these Easter bunnies.

Chefs prepare the shell of the bunny in two halves then melt them together once customers have put their gift inside. There are different sizes depending on the surprise. It is then stuck to a thick chocolate base to make a full calorie-laden chocolate delight.

Get stuck in

The bunnies are made in an open kitchen, where customers can make special requests. Different natural food colourings are put into the mould first to decorate the outside before the sugary goo is painted on top.

Youngsters can also venture behind the glass screen to make the bunny themselves. Once it is ready, a big bow finishes it off before it is wrapped up ready for Easter Sunday.

Easter eats

While people wait for their bunny to be made, a special set lunch menu is available until Sunday for Dh175 each. Alternatively they can take home a hamper full of traditional favourites, including turkey and roast potatoes with all the trimmings.

Alternatively, if you still prefer eggs over animals, a selection of chocolate varieties are on offer along with bunny family and egg display gifts.

The details

Easter bunnies cost from Dh15 to Dh108 while the hampers start at Dh295. Call Counter Culture on 04 319 4000.
