The Guggenheim: The Making of a Museum

Gallery One, Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi

This exhibition, which runs until Thursday, gives you the opportunity to see masterpieces from more than 40 artists featured at the world-renowned collection of the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

Lita Cabellut and Jean-Pierre Roc-Roussey

Opera Gallery, DIFC, Dubai

The first Middle East show by the critically acclaimed European artists runs until the end of the week. Cabellut draws on her memories of growing up in Barcelona while Roc-Roussey exhibits a series about Asian women.

The Lebanese artist's innovative contemporary paintings are on display until February 11.

Wrap Me Up In You

Iranian artist Nargess Hashemi reproduces scenes from traditional family gatherings: Drawings of weddings laid over wrapping paper, exaggerating the sentimentalism of the occasion, all the while her family remain oblivious to the chaos tearing through the streets of Tehran.

Sacred Sights of India

The Empty Quarter Fine Art Photography Gallery, Dubai

A wonderful collection of rare vintage and contemporary photographic prints of India is on display until February 5.

It focuses on a varied group of images from the late 19th century with an overview of Calcutta by Bourne and Shepherd, as well as images from Falkland Road, Henri Cartier Bresson, Mary Ellen Mark and Mark Riboud.
