Psycho drama at its best

One of Egypt’s most versatile actors of his generation, Ahmed El Fishawi stars in arguably this year’s best Arabic movie release so far, 45 Youm (45 Days).

This psychological drama, which also stars Ezzat Abu Ouf, Ghada Abdel Razik and Hisham Selim, follows the story of Ahmed Ezz (Fishawi), a troubled teenager who is arrested after he tragically murders his parents. Over 45 days, a psychiatrist (Selim) must assess Ahmed to find out if he is mentally ill, or he was aware of what he was doing.

Directed by Ahmed Youssri, 45 Youm is a refreshing change to the Arabic movie world, and Fishawy’s remarkable performance shows just why he is one of the hottest stars of our times.
