Reality turns fizzy

With his show at Total Arts Gallery at the Courtyard in Al Quoz, Tehran-born artist Ramtin Zad seeks to transport the viewer to their own mystical inner world, a labyrinthine, colourful richness of images deep with symbolism and meaning.

For Zad, this is "the absolute", when man no longer struggles to distinguish between reality and dreams but crosses the line dividing tangible from intangible.

In a world where women try to tame power with advice and men use beauty as a voice against violence, the viewer loses himself, realising that everybody and everything he thinks is subjective.
