Rod Stewart's lucky number must be seven. The British superstar is set to perform live in Dubai for the very first time on May 7 at the Sevens Stadium.

Organised by AEG Live Middle East, the singer-songwriter, who has sold more than 160 million albums worldwide, will share the stage with special guests Spandau Ballet on the night.

"We have really been looking forward to presenting Rod Stewart live in concert," said Thomas Ovesen, Managing Director of AEG Live Middle East. "The show is amazing and includes all his greatest hits; songs most people treasure and are able to relate to.

"Being able to add the reunited Spandau Ballet – who will perform their full world tour show – at the same event just means that the May 7th concert will be a real extravaganza and something very special. There's no doubt we will have a capacity crowd at The Sevens."

Stewart's concert will preceed his British arena tour, where all 24 of his dates sold out online in record time.

With his career in its sixth decade, Stewart has achieved numerous solo hit singles worldwide. His tally of 62 singles comprise hit tunes such as I Don't Want to Talk About It, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?, and This Old Heart of Mine.

Meanwhile, Spandau Ballet, one of the most influential UK bands of the 80s, are known for hits, including Gold, True, and Through The Barricades.

Frontman Tony Hadley said: "We can't wait to get to Dubai and perform there."
