Stars light up private gigs in Dubai

In Dubai, it is quite normal to see a celebrity name associated with a real estate project.

But catching on now are private concerts that provide developers that bit of extra glamour for its VIP clientele.

Desert Dream is the latest such company that has signed on big names like Latino star Enrique Iglesias, below, along with Lebanese starlet Elissa and British-Asian artist Raaghav to unveil its Dream Harbour development during a private performance on August 14 at the Madinat Jumeirah. This invitation-only event will be hosted by English football legend and TV presenter Ian Wright.

But those who don't make the cut can wait a week to catch Iglesias at a mega-concert at Festival City on August 22; tickets have yet to go on sale.

The Iglesias concert will be followed by The Stranglers at the Irish Village on October 3 and Australian star Kylie Minogue who's supposedly jetting down for the launch of Atlantis The Palm on November 30.
