Take a dip in murky waters

Look out! It's a fish, it's a bear, no, it's a genetically mutated man-eating crocodile. Aargh!
Indeed, Rogue is that and more, but no matter how much this old croc from Down Under snaps his shiny white teeth, he will certainly bite off more than he can chew in a face off with big daddy Jaws. So while the great white retains his crown in Hollywood, Rogue is forced to terrorise the murky backwaters of the outback.
The film opens with a cynical American writer Pete McKell (Michael Vartan) heading up river to report on the tourism boom in Australia's Northern Territory.
Stuck on a boat with shady characters, Pete finds a kindred spirit in Kate (Radha Mitchell), the local tour guide. But before their romance can blossom, their boat is rammed by something down below and the disparate group finds itself stranded on a tiny island.
Once night falls though, the thing that goes bump in the night comes out to play; and much to the horror of our motley crew, it's a giant saltwater crocodile, governed by its need to hunt and kill. As the body count piles up, its up to Pete and Kate to save the day.
If the film's plot reminds you of Anaconda, its not surprising, because the premise is virtually the same. The difference: Anaconda's slithery serpent was far more menacing than Rogue can ever be. The film's DVD includes the making of Rogue, five deleted scenes and the trailer.
