The Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Best Contribution to the Development of the Nation this year went to Egyptian author Ammar Ali Hasan for his book The Political Establishment of Sufism in Egypt. It was declared "a remarkable addition" to the Islamic studies.
Mohammad Al Mallakh from Morocco has been named winner in the Young Author category for Time in Arabic Language: Its Linguistic Structure and Significance. A total of six awards are given away; other winners will be announced over the coming weeks.
