Eight of China's most celebrated and accomplished artists will be exhibiting traditional Chinese ink paintings at a show in Dubai this month, including a series of pieces specially created for the Dubai market.

The exhibition, which opens on Thursday at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre (Ductac), is part of a five-year global tour of Chinese art that will see a variety of artworks exhibited around the world. The artworks on display combine traditional techniques with more modern and colourful styles. The artists taking part in the exhibition are some of China's most eminent ink painters, who have exhibited all over the world and between them have won a huge number of awards.

Among the most well-known is Yu Zhixue who is famous for his mountain landscapes. He has created new works specifically for the exhibition in Dubai. Inspired by the deserts of Arabia, they are fine examples of their genre. Other artists exhibiting their works are Du Ziling, Xie Zhigao, Hu Yongkai, Zhang Fuxing, Zhang Hongfei, Sun Zhijun and Fan Zhibin.
