I am...

NAME: Mohammed Khwiss
AGE: 27
NATIONALITY: British (originally Palestinian)
JOB: Event Director, AEG Live Middle East

What's the best part of your job? I've always loved music, so to be involved with organising big shows in the region, and bringing over some really cool artists is fantastic.

What do you think is lacking in the UAE's live music scene at the moment? It's basically the lack of venues that prevent more events from coming here. The bigger the UAE becomes, more events will come over to the region, and, therefore, more artists will visit.

Who has been the nicest celebrity you have ever met? Michael Bolton was such a nice person and incredibly down to earth, which was nice. I also was very excited about meeting Joe, because I have been listening to his music for ever. It was such an honour to meet him, and when I did I was very starstruck.

And who has been the worst? Well, he's not in music, but it's the athlete Michael Johnson (American sprinter who holds the current world records in the 200 metres, 400 metres, and 4x400 metres relay). I really used to look up to him, and when I was 16 I met him, but he was mean and refused to sign autographs. I was young at the time, so was crushed.

I'm eating at…

Spice Island. This restaurant is one of my all-time favourites. The buffet has a great selection of cuisine, and I particularly like their lobster.

I'm listening to…

1. All that I Am by Joe

2. Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra

3. Heartbroken by T2 featuring Jodie Aysha

4. Simon Says by Pharoahe Monch

5. Alphabetical Slaughter by Papoose

I'm reading…

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Everyone has been raving on about it, so I thought I'd check it out. It teaches you how to focus in order to achieve your goals in life. Although all the advice is stuff we already know, they give you steps so you don't lose track on how to use that advice.
