NAME: Adam Kechil
AGE: Younger than I look
NATIONALITY: British
JOB: Executive producer and TV show presenter on City 7
How would you describe your show In Gear on City 7 TV?
It's a show about cars for people looking for the ultimate automotive experience. The show is divided into three segments: one, where we invite someone from the public to test drive a car; the Me and My segment is an interview with an individual about the car he drives and why; the third is the road safety segment.
You are a one-man champion for road safety in the country. Why is that?
I think the lack of driver's education is the biggest failure in this country. But the government is doing their best to redevelop the system.
Are driving instructors to blame?
They are the only cause. There are no set standards here, and with 119 nationalities living in the country, each one brings his or her own set of driving techniques to the roads here.
What car you are currently driving?
I have two: The Hummer H2 is my fun weekend drive and the Kia Carnival is my work car.
What five cars would you recommend here?
The Land Cruiser, FJ Cruiser, any one of the Hummers, the Jeep Wrangler and the Jaguar.
Where do you like to dine?
AshA's. The restaurant at Wafi has a nice Middle Eastern feel to it and very refined. And we British seem to love Indian food.
What are your favourite songs?
1. What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
2. Baker Street by Jeffery Rafferty
3. Rocky Theme by Survivors
4. Agar Tum Miljao, Zeher Original Soundtrack
5. Amazed by Caroline Griffin
What are you reading right now?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This was actually the last book I read. I think a part of it had to do with curiosity, while the rest was to know the whole story before I actually watch the film when it comes out. I'm a visual graphics person, but I like to compare adaptations.
