Abhishek decides not to fight with King Khan

Actors who are not as big a star as Shah Rukh Khan do realize the futility of taking him on at times. And that is what it seems to be when Abhishek Bachchan has now clarified that they will not be releasing their film Players directed by Abbas and Mustan Burmawala and co starring Neil Mukesh, Bipasha Basu and Sonam Kapoor opposite Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 2.  Abhishek Bachchan says that the dates of the release are being worked out and, “why should we release our film opposite theirs?” which is a far cry from the war cry that once resonated in the corridors of power when Shah Rukh Khan has decided to put the Burmawala brothers Abbas and Mustan on ignore mode. 

But all said and done, the idea of having separate dates to release these two movies is being seen as a sensible step in Bollywood primarily because both these films belong to the same genre and are being made with a lot of style and panache by makers who have the passion for breathtaking locales, stylized looks and super action. Hence what was being billed as a clash of the titans has been averted as it would have meant cannibalizing into the collections of each other.
