Treading down the same path that brought Bollywood glitterati to these shores, it is now the turn of five-film old Alia Bhatt, who candidly confesses a Dubai residential address could very well be on the cards.

The ‘Kapoor & Sons’ actress, who is days away from moving into her recently purchased Mumbai home, stated her love for Dubai would bring her down this avenue soon enough.

In a chat with Emirates 24|7, the 22-year-old spoke about why she loves this city, saying: "How can one not? I simply love the vibe, the feel of Dubai. Moreover, I have loads of friends who live there, so I jump at the chance of visiting whenever possible."

The actress continued: "In fact, I flew down to Dubai last November, ironically, to shop for my new home in Mumbai; maybe, it’s time to shop for a home itself in Dubai."

Bhatt, whose Juhu suburban home is minutes away from her parents Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan’s residence, roped in interior designer Richa Bahl to set up the place; incidentally, Richa is married to director Vikas Bahl who directed Bhatt in last year’s box office failure, 'Shandaar'.

Speaking about her new pad, Bhatt added: "We are so behind schedule in setting it up. The idea was to move in before my birthday [March 15], but it looks like it may take longer than planned.

"Irrespective of the delays, I am so proud of this achievement, so much so, that I am willing to bid goodbye to my mother for this."

Bhatt is expected to move into her new home with sister Shaheen, who is helping her with the planning while the former jets across India to promote her upcoming ‘Kapoor & Sons’ with Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan in the lead.

Quiz Bhatt whether the film promotions could bring the trio to Dubai for a grand premiere to coincide with the Times of India Film Awards or Toifa that will be hosted in the emirate that same weekend as her film release, and she confesses that it was something that had been discussed.

“We had spoken about it, literally begged our producers [Dharma Productions] to allow us to bring the film to Dubai, but it just couldn’t happen,” she revealed. “However, film or not, I know I will be returning to the emirate soon.”

Bhatt’s ‘Kapoor & Sons’ is to release in UAE on March 17.

The actress continued: “Catching the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Dubai at least once in this lifetime is on my bucketlist, so if the movie promotion didn’t happen, then I will make this happen – maybe this year or the one after.”

Perhaps from the balcony of her new home in Dubai?

“Never say never,” pat comes the reply.

The young actress would be following in the footsteps of actors Shah Rukh, Salman, Anil and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who all own properties in the emirate.

While Shah Rukh owns a villa on The Palm Jumeirah, Salman Khan has bought apartments in The Address Residence Fountain Views, as reported by this site.

Meanwhile, Bollywood’s first family – Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – have a luxury villa in the prestigious Sanctuary Falls, a resort-style villa community within Jumeirah Golf Estates.
