The massive leak of 11.5 million tax documents which exposed the secret offshore dealings of world leaders, celebrities and sportspersons including Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, has also been named among 500 Indians 'who have set up offshore entities in tax havens around the world'.

He has issued a statement denying any knowledge of the companies mentioned by the Panama-based law firm and claimed that his name may have been misused.

However, Aishwarya Rai remained unavailable for comment even after repeated requests to her representative.

She has also been avoiding the paparazzi.

Recently, the 'Jazbaa' actress made a backdoor entry and exit from a five-star hotel where she was present to collect her Global Indian of the Year Award.

The actress apparently was in no mood to face any unwanted questions.

She arrived just before she was to receive the award and left the venue soon after. While the rest of the winners including tennis player Sania Mirza walked the red carpet, Aishwarya preferred to give it a skip seeing the hordes of media present.

While she was trying to quietly sneak out from the venue, some media folk managed to spot her.

She then spoke about how thrilled she was to receive the award and about her colourful outfit, but when asked about the Panama Papers, she made a hasty exit.
