Why does the name ‘Salman’ irritate the former Miss World?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the Bollywood actress, just before her latest appearance on a star-studded public stage in Sharjah, was reportedly irritated and angry to see the name ‘Salman’, mentioned on the long list of Indian stars receiving the Asiavision Movie Awards 2014.

In fact, sources close to the event organisers claim she almost cancelled her trip to Dubai, though it is not clear why.

While Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are regular visitors to various celebrity events in Dubai, both have never shared here.

The irony is that the Salman at the Asiavision awards was in fact an actor by the name of Dulquer Salman.

Aishwarya Rai was selected as the Icon of Indian Cinema.

Miss Rai Bachchan has been happily married to Abhishek Bachchan, and they have a daughter Aaradhya.

Film observers have opined that it is time Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai buried hatched and went on as friends.

In fact, according to sources close to the Asiavision award event, Ash was not particularly pleased about the name ‘Salman’ figuring on the awards list and wanted to know why ‘Dulquer' was not used.

“She was quite worried and angry after seeing the name Salman in the star list attending the Asiavision Movie Awards. Only after coming on stage did she realise that the Salman that attended the Asiavision Movie Awards is Dulquer Salman and not Salman Khan,” said sources.

“On stage she was sitting and chatting with Dulquer Salman, who is the new sensation in Malayalam film industry.” said a movie enthusiast who attended the star- studded programme.
