You knew it was only a matter of time before another Aishwarya Rai Bachchan story saw fans ‘flab’bergasted over the Bollywood’s actress’ inability to shed her post baby weight as per the standard time limit set for celebrity moms in some unspoken rule book.

The 39-year-old actress, who celebrates her six year wedding anniversary with Abhishek Bachchan next week, hit headlines once again for her unfit body structure when she was pictured in a sleeveless, flowing green dress on the sidelines of the recently concluded Times of India Film Awards or TOIFA in Vancouver last week.

Pictured sharing a laugh with husband Abhishek and photographer Sunder Dipak, Aishwarya – who this past one year has not been pictured showing her upper arms in any photograph – finally threw caution to the wind and flashed her ‘flab’, as one critic posted online.

Probably, even Aishwarya didn’t expect that one moment of carelessness in wardrobe planning would result in an onslaught of criticism and fans being forced to defend her on a public platform.

Some of the more barbed comments included this by an anonymous poster: “She is not only fat she looks so average.”

Rohan R said on Twitter: “Yes, we now know the reason why Aishwarya covered up her arms this past one year. Please don’t stop now on our behalf.”

“Arm-ed and dangerous for her fans, these new images of Aishwarya has left us thunder-struck in the battle of bulge,” tweeted Aarti M.

However, fans of the mother of one were not ones to take this lying down.

CG Valle took to Instagram to write: “She is lovely no matter what. True beauty.”

Aatish Singh Dahiya wrote on her official fan club page on Facebook: “What a superb image; mind blowing.”

While Dubai-based fan Madhura Sehgal, and a mother of two, said: “I don’t understand this twisted fixation people seem to have over Aishwarya’s physical fitness. Who cares if she has fat arms or skinny ones?

“When she doesn’t care, neither does her husband, why should we? Grow up people.”
