Amitabh, Aishwarya, Kajol at Rajinikanth's 'Kochadaiiyaan' launch

The Hindi trailer of Indian superstar Rajinikanth's much awaited film 'Kochadaiiyaan', was launched by Amitabh Bachchan on March 30.

Besides the trailer, a special shoot on the making of the film was also shown.

After attending the event Amitabh Bachchan wrote on a social networking site: "Launched the first look of the film 'KOCHADAIIYAN' a Rajnikanth film directed by his daughter, Soundarya .. motion capture film for the first time in India ... a tribute by a daughter to her Father, a show of strength by women, a love and cooperation of a Father to his daughter...

He continued: "And the film ..? Incredible execution of a concept that is so painstaking .. and tough !!! What an evening...As Chief Guest of the evening, I am dumb struck by what we witnessed..."

Speaking on the occasion Big B said he and Rajnikanth are very close to each other and almost like family.

It was officially announced that the Soundarya Ashwin-directed film would hit the marquee on April 11.

But, now there are reports that the film may not get released as planned since the post-production work in other languages, including Hindi, is still going on and the makers do not want to hurry this. They need more time, probably until May 1.

Many veteran actors attended the event in Mumbai during the launch of the trailer. Director Shekhar Kapur, Subhash Ghai, Ramesh Sippy and R. Balki gave their blessings to debutant director Soundarya.

Actor Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol and Anupam Kher were also present.

However, the leading lady of the film, Deepika Padukone, was missing from action.
