Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek got injured when they went to visit ailing Indian politician Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray on Wednesday, November 14.
Thackeray 86 is on life support at his Bandra bungalow Matoshree, where security has now been stepped up.
Amitabh and his son Abhishek were injured while making their way inside the bunglow. Amitabh's shirt (kurta) torn by the concerned crowd of Sena workers gathered outside.
Amitabh tweeted: "T 932 - Yes both Abhishek and me were injured with cuts, but are fine and back home ... the doctors at 'Matoshree' attended on us!"
Big B then went on to tweet about his earlier interaction with Balasaheb. Thackeray had visited Bachchan in hospital when Mr Bachchan suffered a critical accident while shooting for 'Coolie'.
Mr Bachchan wrote: "T 932 - When I fought for my life after 'Coolie' accident, he came to visit me in hospital, with a cartoon he had drawn - Yamraj defeated!"
"T 932 - Yamraj - God of Death, defeated by me..wish I was as proficient a cartoonist as he, for tonight I would wish to draw that for him !"
He continued, "When I was flown in to Mumbai from Bangalore in semi-conscious state after 'Coolie' accident, it was his ambulance that took me to BC (Breach Candy Hospital)."
Amitabh also recalls the time when he was embroiled in a scam, "T 932 - When the Bofors Scandal accusations on us were at its peak, he called me home and asked "tell me the truth, are you involved ?" ...."
"T 932 -When I said "NO !", he said "Then do not worry about anything. I am with you. You are an actor, go do what you are best at"."
Bal Thackeray has been in failing health for a while now. At 2 am, his son Uddhav emerged from Matoshree to say, "Earlier too Balasaheb was in such a crisis. I have not lost hope. You too must not lose hope. All efforts are on. Please pray."
Amitabh tweeted: "Balasaheb Thackeray : a fighter all his life, fights his life !! Prayers needed now!"
