The legend returns to Dubai. And this time it is not a trip cloaked in mystery akin to his New Year celebrations here with his illustrious family in tow.

Amitabh Bachchan will be in the emirate on April 9 for the red carpet world premiere of his film, ‘Bhoothnath Returns’.

Joining the actor will be co-star Boman Irani, along with the child artiste, Parth.

The premiere will be held at the Grand Cineplex, next to Wafi City on Wednesday, and Bachchan is expected to walk the red carpet at 9pm.

A special fan pen will also be set up, with organisers handing out a select number of tickets to lucky fans of Big B, as he is popularly called, at the event itself.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, organiser Syed Shuja of Dream Advertising and Ministry of Events said: “This is one of the biggest premieres Dubai will ever witness with the legend himself, Mr Amitabh Bachchan walking the red carpet.

“Dubai fans are very lucky as April 9 is also his wife, Jaya Bachchan’s birthday. But the actor has chosen to spend his evening with his followers instead.”

The sequel to ‘Bhootnath’ will premiere across three screens and Bachchan is expected to make a small appearance in all and greet the lucky few who have tickets.

Said Shuja: “Tickets to the premiere are being handed out on special invite basis, along with the competitions we are hosting on our Facebook page and with our radio partners. Plus, at the premiere itself, some members will be selected from the fan pen to attend the screening too.”

Earlier in the evening, a special black-tie gala sponsor dinner will also be hosted by Bachchan, which is a private event.

Shuja added: “Keeping in mind Mr Bachchan’s health, we have kept his public appearances limited as to not over exert the actor.”

‘Bhootnath Returns’ sees the return of Bachchan as the friendly ghost who makes yet another attempt to scare little children and redeem himself. However, embroiled in the neighbourhood politics, he decides to contest against a corrupt thug, played by Boman Irani.
