Academy Award-winning musician and composer AR Rahman was featured in the OWN original primetime series, OPRAH’S NEXT CHAPTER.

Oprah Winfrey's show 'Travels to India' is a two-part special.
Capturing her first trip to the country, Oprah Travels to India is set to premiere Sunday April 22, 2012 at 8/9c on OWN with part 2 of the episode, Women of India, to air on Sunday, April 29.
The Oscar-Grammy winner is quite familiar with Oprah shows. In 2009, Rahman performed on 'The Oprah Winfrey' Show and also met her at an event that had both of them on the list of the most influential people.
Oprah's new show is a special episode based on her trip to India in January this year.
The episode features AR Rahman extensively. During Oprah’s visit, Rahman welcomes her to India and the show highlights his foundation KM Music Conservatory by featuring a stunning performance with The KM Music Conservatory children’s choir. The choir had the honor of performing for Oprah as well as some of Bollywood’s biggest stars at what Indian media proclaimed as “the party of the year.”
The show will have Oprah enlightening the world a bit about the Mozart of Madras, who brought laurels to India by winning Oscar and Grammy awards.
Rahman most recently performed at The 84th Academy Awards as part of the first-ever all-star Academy Awards® band which featured Rahman alongside Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, Esperanza Spalding and composer Gigio Moroder.
