It would appear that Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s baby news is a stiff contender to trend on micro blogging site, Twitter, with the ‘BachchanBaby’ hashtag already being used heavily by fans and celebs, alike to congratulate the Bachchan family over the good news.
In fact, most of Bollywood, which is currently in Toronto for the International Indian Film Academy awards, is overcoming jetlag and finding time between rehearsals to tweet in their well wishes.
Beating them all was none other than Twitter queen, Priyanka Chopra, who was the first famous face to send in her congrats to both, grandpa Amitabh and father Abhishek Bachchan, by tweeting: “Congrats sir @SrBachchan and @juniorbachchan. Awesome news! Let’s make way for the legacy to go forward [sic].”
Abhishek’s co-star, close buddy and IIFA host Riteish Deshmukh was next, wishing Amitabh: “Congratulations. Super happy.”
His alleged girlfriend, actress Genelia D’Souza, who is at IIFA with Deshmukh, also found time to tweet in, saying: “Congratulations Abhishek. Super, super happy for Aishwarya and you; one thing’s for sure, the kid will be one hell of a good-looking kid. Congrats again.”
Rana Daggubati, junior Bachchan’s co-star in “Dum Maro Dum” also managed the tweet: “@juniorbachchan is soon to be Daddy Bachchan. Congrats and lots of love.”
Other celebrities who ensured the beat others in the race to send in their well wishes were the following:
Neil Nitin Mukesh, saying: “Amazing! Congrats soon to be grandfather. @SrBachchan and big bro @juniorbachchan and Ash bhabhi (sister-in-law). Love and happiness to you always. Yippee!”
Actor R Madhavan messaged Amitabh saying: “@So happy for you sir. The legend continues. Love to the whole family.”
Music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani added: “For @juniorbachchan, Ash, @SrBachchan and Mrs. B. Some of the most wonderful people I know! God bless you.”
Small-time singer Sophie Chowdhury was not to be left behind, who wrote: “Congrats to soon to be grandfather @SrBachchan. Thrilled for @juniorbachchan and Ash. Much love and happiness to you all.”
However, the no nonsense producer and entrepreneur, Pritish Nandy, cut the flowery act to state the obvious: “Nice to see Breaking News on twitter. @SrBachchan has set a new trend.”
Oh, well, you can admire Nandy to state the obvious.
