Amy was discovered in 2010 by an Indian director who offered her a part in a film set in the 1940s British Raj.

Amy's role in Tamil period drama 'Madrasapattinam' (Madras Town) in 2010 got her nominated for the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress.

But for the starlet, whose face draws crowds in India, life is certaily different here.

Talking to The Sun, Amy said that at home she is just Amy but in India she is famous.

Now the 21-year-old has stepped into the world of Bollywood to play Jessie Thekkekutu opposite male lead Prateik Babbar in writer-director Gautham Menon's upcoming 'Ekk Deewana Tha'. It's a Hindi remake of the Tamil release 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa'.
