Priyanka, Shahid bring their ‘love story’ to Dubai

Bollywood’s favourite controversial child is expected to jet into Dubai next month, hanging on the arm of her rumoured on-again, off-again beau, Shahid Kapur.
 
If you haven’t guessed it already, its Priyanka Chopra, who is expected to bring their on-screen love story to the emirate as “Teri Meri Kahaani” gears up for a world premiere here, a few days prior to its general release across the UAE on June 21.
 
According to insiders, makers Eros International have been planned four premieres of “Teri Meri Kahaani”, with the first being Melbourne; this should be followed by Dubai, London and Toronto.
 
No confirmation has come from the filmmakers as yet.
 
Chopra and Kapur are already slated to perform at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards next month in Singapore, following which, the duo will reportedly fly to Australia with director Kunal Kohli to promote their film at the Indian Film Festival (IIF) at Melbourne, which will be held from June 11 to 22.
 
Chopra has found herself hogging headlines of late with an alleged spat with one-time good friend and filmmaker Karan Johar, who insiders say was in two minds of inviting the actress to his May 24 birthday celebrations before finally forgiving her and sending her an invite.
 
She is expected to attend.
 
However, gossip writers are already hoping for fireworks as Gauri Khan is also expected to grace the party with husband Shah Rukh Khan in tow, with whom Chopra has been linked with over an alleged torrid affair.
 
Meanwhile, stories of a growing rift between Chopra and Kapur have also been circulating with all not well between the rumoured one-time couple, with the latter even being accused in the media of stalking his co-star.
 
But despite the negative press, the on-screen chemistry between the lead pair is being talked about, with “Teri Meri Kahaani” chronicling Chopra’s and Kapur’s love story across three time periods – 1910, 1960 and 2012.

The film has been directed at a reported budget of Rs300 million.
