Shah Rukh Khan buys new cricket team

Shah Rukh Khan has now become the first movie star to own three sports teams – all three being cricket teams -  The Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League – the 20 over bash in India, the Trinidad and Tobago Team from the Caribbean Premier League and his latest acquisition now is the Cape Town team In the South African Premier League called the The Global League headed by marquee player JP Duminy.

Other Indian stars to own cricket teams are Preity ZInta, Juhi Chawla and Shilpa Shetty – whose team Rajasthan Royals is now suspended in the match fixing scandal. Abhishek Bachchan owns a kabaddi team.

Interestingly no Indian cricket player can play for the two other cricket teams owned by Shah Rukh Khan due to rules laid out by the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI)
